Carry Bag

If you walk around Ahmedabad long enough, you'll see why we're so busy. Carry Bag is based right here in the city. We deal with all kinds of bags, from the small ones for local shops to the much bigger ones used for moving heavy stuff. Our workspace is usually full of stacks of paper and plastic sheets. It’s hard to keep it organized when new shipments are coming in every single day. I spend a lot of time just counting things. One, two, three... it gets a bit repetitive but it has to be done right every time. The heat in Ahmedabad can be really tough in the summer, especially when you're moving heavy bundles of bags around the floor. We keep the big windows open to get some air, but that just lets all the street noise in. You get used to the constant sound of rickshaws and people honking. It’s just part of being in this city. We don't have a fancy logo or a big marketing team. People just know us as the bag place down the street. Sometimes we have to stay late into the evening to finish a big order for a local shop that ran out of stock. It’s not always easy work, but it’s what we do. The floor is usually covered in little scraps of handle cut-outs that fall off the machines. No matter how much we sweep, they always seem to come back. It’s a simple business, really. We just make sure people have a way to carry things home.
