Bangasree

If you are walking down Ashram Road near the Income Tax office, you’ll find us in Bhagawati Chamber. We are right opposite Gujarat Vidhyapith. It’s a very busy part of Ahmedabad with people always rushing to the government offices or the university. We have been running Bangasree from this spot for quite a while. Our shop is full of textiles and sarees, mostly. You’ll see stacks of cloth everywhere you look. We don't have fancy lights or a big glass storefront like the new malls. It’s a traditional setup where you can come in, sit down, and look at the fabric properly. We spend a lot of time folding and unfolding things for people who want to see the patterns. My hands are usually tired by the end of the day from all the fabric. We get a lot of regulars who have been coming to us since they were young. They know we have the stuff they like. The noise from Ashram Road never really stops, but inside we just focus on the colors and the weaves. We don't do much marketing or put up big posters. Word of mouth works well enough for us. It’s a small team here, just family and a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. We just try to keep the shelves stocked with good material and hope people find what they need for their celebrations.
