Rendezvous

Being in Agra means you are always around people who are just there to see the Taj Mahal. Our place, Rendezvous, is inside the Howard Plaza Hotel on Fatehabad Road. It’s a very busy street, especially with all the tourists and the traffic. We are right across from the Pizza Hut, so people use that as a landmark to find us. Working here is mostly about keeping up with the flow of people coming in for a meal or a drink. It can get pretty loud and hectic during the peak season. We don't try to make it sound like something it isn't. It’s just a spot to sit down and have something to eat while you’re out in the heat. The staff here has seen it all, from big tour buses to solo travelers. We spend a lot of time cleaning tables and making sure the kitchen is stocked. It’s not a polished corporate setup; we are just people working in a hotel restaurant. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when a big crowd hits us at once, but we get there in the end. We don’t have any fancy talk about our "philosophy." We just serve the food and hope people like it. The road outside is always dusty and the horns never stop honking, but that’s just life in this part of Agra. We just keep the fans running and the tables ready for the next group.
