Bengal Lodge Bar & Restaurant

You can find us over on Rakabganj Road in Agra, right near the police station. We’re part of the Hotel Bengal Lodge building. Agra is a city that everyone knows because of the Taj, but our neighborhood is more about the locals and the people who live here year-round. The bar and restaurant get quite lively in the evenings when people finish work and want to sit down for a bit. We’ve got a mix of regular customers who come in every Friday and travelers who just stumbled upon us while looking for a place to eat. The kitchen can get pretty hot, especially during the summer months when Agra feels like an oven. I usually spend my time between the tables and the bar, making sure everyone has what they need. It’s a lot of walking back and forth on hard floors. We keep the music at a decent level so people can actually talk to each other. Sometimes the street outside gets blocked by a wedding procession or a festival, and we all just stand by the door and watch for a few minutes. It’s part of the charm of living here. We don't have a big menu, just the things we know how to make well. Cleaning up at night takes a while, especially after a busy shift, but it’s good to see the place empty and quiet for a few hours before we do it all again tomorrow.
