Peshwari Restaurant

Main Road in Agra is usually packed with cars and rickshaws, and that is where you will find us at A-89. We are just opposite the petrol pump and quite close to Shanti Manglik Hospital. This location means there is always a lot of movement outside our door. Peshwari Restaurant has a basic setup here. The kitchen takes up a good chunk of the back area, and the front is for the customers to sit. We’ve been in this spot for a good amount of time now. Every morning starts with the same routine of opening the shutters and getting the water boiling. The staff arrives one by one, usually complaining about the heat or the traffic on the main road. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. People just know we are here because of the location near the hospital. Sometimes people waiting for patients come over for a quick meal. The furniture is sturdy but old, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon. We just keep doing what we do every day. It’s a lot of work keeping a restaurant going in a busy city like Agra, but we are used to it. The sink in the back sometimes drips, and we have to remind the boys to shut the tap tight. It’s just a normal, busy food joint for the locals who want a simple meal without any fuss.
