New Riao Restaurant

Being over here at 44 Taj Road in Sadar Bazaar means there is always something going on outside the door. We are right near Hotel Clark, so we get a lot of people walking by who look a bit lost or are just looking for a quick bite without the hotel prices. Sadar Bazaar is always loud, especially in the afternoons when the shops are all in full swing. We’ve got this small space where the tables are a bit close together, but people manage. The floor is old tile and we scrub it every night before we lock up. It’s mostly just us running the show, cooking what we know and serving it up on plain plates. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we have to use the emergency lights, which makes the place look a bit dim, but customers don't usually leave. Agra gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the water jugs full and the curtains drawn a bit to block the sun. It’s a basic life here. We don't have a big menu or anything, just the usual stuff that people expect. I usually sit near the front door to keep an eye on things and chat with the regulars who come in from the nearby shops. It’s just a routine that we’ve gotten used to over the years. We keep it honest and just try to get through the day's work and keep the place clean for tomorrow.
