Anuradha Pal Cultural Foundation

Up on the 7th floor of Dharam Jyothi CHS is where you’ll find the Anuradha Pal Cultural Foundation. We’re located in Flat 71A on B Nair Road, right in the heart of Vile Parle West. It’s a busy neighborhood, especially during the festival seasons. Getting up to the seventh floor gives us a bit of a view, though mostly we’re just looking at the rooftops of other buildings nearby. The lift in this building is a bit old, but it usually works fine most of the time. We spend a lot of time here working on cultural projects and organizing different things for the community. It’s a lived-in space, not some sterile office. We have books and instruments and papers scattered around most of the time. Vile Parle West is a good place to be because there's always something happening and it's easy for people to reach us from the station. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy from the street below, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The staff here is small, just a few of us who care about the arts and making sure things get done right. We don't have a big corporate lobby or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us sitting at our desks or talking on the phone. It’s a humble spot but it works for what we need to do every day without much trouble.
