About Ramachari Carpenter Works – Furniture in Warangal
I work out of my house in Pogallapally, at number 3-68. It’s not a big factory or anything, just a workshop I’ve set up. I’ve been doing carpentry for years now. I learned it from my father. Most of the time I’m making doors or window frames for the neighbors. Sometimes I get an order for a bed or a cupboard. I like working with my hands. The smell of fresh wood is something I never get tired of. Kothagudem is a nice place to live and work. My tools are mostly hand tools, though I have a few power ones now to speed things up. It’s just me and sometimes a helper if the job is too big. I don't have a fancy showroom. People just come by the house and show me what they want. I draw it out on a piece of paper and we go from there. It takes time to do it right, so I don't rush. If it's raining, the wood takes longer to dry, so things slow down. I just do one job at a time. It keeps things manageable. Most of my work comes from people telling their friends about me. I don't need to put up posters or anything. Just keeping busy in the shed is enough for me. My kids sometimes come and watch me work after school.
