About Gouthami Carpenter Works – Furniture in Warangal
Gouthami Carpenter Works is my small workshop located at house number 2-56/1 in Khanapur. You can usually find me there surrounded by piles of wood shavings and the smell of sawdust. I’ve been working with wood since I was a young man in Warangal. The shop isn't very big, so I have to keep the wood stacked up against the walls to make room for the workbench. I make all sorts of things like chairs, door frames, and small cupboards. Most of my tools are hand tools that I’ve had for a long time, though I do have a couple of power saws now. The noise is quite something when I’m cutting, but the neighbors don't seem to mind much. Khanapur is a nice place to work, and people often stop by to ask if I can fix a broken table leg or build something new for their homes. I don't have a catalog of designs. People usually just describe what they want or show me a picture, and I try my best to make it. Sometimes the wood is hard to get, or the quality isn't what I wanted, so I have to go out and pick it myself. It’s a slow process because I work alone, but I like it that way. Every piece is different and has its own little flaws. It’s just a simple life of sawdust and glue at 2-56/1.
