Durgachary Carpenter Works

I have been doing carpentry work in Gudur, Warangal, for a very long time now. My shop is just a simple place where I keep my saws, chisels, and wood glue. There are always wood shavings on the floor, and I usually have a few half-finished chairs or door frames leaning against the walls. I don't use many power tools because I like the control I get with my hands. People from all over Warangal come to me because they know I take my time with the joints. I don't like to rush things. If a piece of wood isn't right, I won't use it. My workshop is open to the street, so I see everyone walking by in Gudur. Sometimes I stop for a cup of tea with a neighbor and we talk about the weather or the local news. My hands are full of old scars and calluses from years of handling rough timber. I don't have a catalog or a website. People just tell me what they need, and I draw it out on a scrap of wood. It is a quiet way to make a living. I don't have any employees, just a young lad who helps me move the heavier planks sometimes. The smell of the wood is the best part of the job. It’s a simple life, and I am happy just making things that last.
