Prasad Carpenter Works

My name is Prasad and I run this carpentry shop here in Kalwala. It’s a small place, H. No -3-116/7 to be exact, where I spend most of my days working with wood. I started this work quite a long time ago because I liked building things with my hands. People from around Kesamudram and other parts of Warangal come by when they need a new cupboard or maybe if a door at home isn't closing right anymore. I have my tools set up in the shed and there is usually sawdust everywhere. It's not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a workspace. Sometimes I am out at someone's house fixing a roof frame or putting together a bed frame they bought. I don't have a big team, usually just me or maybe a helper if the job is heavy. Wood prices keep changing which makes things tricky sometimes but we manage. I try to get things done when I say I will, though sometimes the wood takes longer to dry or the finish needs another day. It’s quiet work mostly. I like the smell of the cut timber in the mornings. If you are looking for the shop, it’s right there in the village, easy to find if you ask anyone near house 3-116/7. We do all sorts of jobs, big and small, whatever the neighbors need. It's a living and I've been doing it a long time now.
