The building is right in the Assi area of Varanasi, near Dumraobagh Park. The address is B-1/128-11, and it’s a part of the city that always has something going on. Being near Assi Ghat means there is a constant stream of people, locals and visitors alike, walking through the lanes. Our space is tucked away a bit, so it feels a little less hectic than the main riverfront. Inside, things are kept pretty simple. We have our regulars who come in and sit in the same spots almost every day. The structure itself is older, with the kind of character you only find in this part of Varanasi. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure the kitchen is stocked up. It’s not a massive operation, just a few of us working together. You can hear the sounds of the street outside—the bells, the scooters, and people talking—but it becomes like background music after a while. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. Sometimes we sit out front when things are slow and just watch the world go by near the park. It’s a steady kind of life, and we’re happy to be part of the neighborhood here without trying to change too much or act like something we aren't.
