Patel Flour Mill

Patel Flour Mill is right in the middle of the Main Bazar in Gorwa Gaam. Being on Gorwa Rd means there’s never a quiet moment. We’ve got shops on both sides of us, and the street is always full of bikes and people. Our space is pretty cramped because we have so much grain coming in every day. We just make it work. Most of the time, I’m standing by the machine, making sure the flow is steady. You have to watch it or the motor might struggle. It’s a bit of a sweaty job, especially in the summer, but we have a small fan that helps a little. We aren’t trying to be the biggest mill in the city. We just want to make sure the people in Gorwa have what they need for their kitchens. There’s a lot of talking that happens here. Since we are in the bazar, people stop by just to say hello even if they don’t have any grinding to do. We don’t mind. It makes the day go faster. Sometimes the bags get heavy and my back hurts, but that’s just part of the trade. We keep our prices fair and our machines running. That’s the whole plan. It’s not complicated. We open early and stay until the last customer is satisfied. It’s just how a local shop should be run, we think. It is just a part of the daily routine for everyone.
