Parag Provision Store

We’ve been here at Ellis Bridge for a good while now, right off C G Road, just behind Pariseema in the Kawant area. It’s a busy spot, mostly because of the offices nearby and the people walking through to get to their cars. Parag Provision Store is just a regular place where we keep the shelves stocked with whatever folks need during the day. Sometimes it’s just a packet of biscuits or some washing powder. The morning starts early here when the milk crates arrive and we have to stack them up before the sun gets too hot. There’s always dust coming in from the road, so a lot of the day is spent just wiping down the counters and making sure the grains are stored right. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s mostly just boxes piled up and bags of sugar sitting near the back. People come in, ask for what they want, and we find it for them. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home and remembers they forgot something for dinner. The fan in the corner makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the air moving at least. Dealing with change and loose coins takes up a lot of time. It’s just how things go day to day in this part of town. We stay open until the street lights have been on for a bit, then we lock up the shutters and head out ourselves. It is a long day but we don’t mind the work.
