You can find us on the third floor of Premier Chambers on R.C. Dutt Road. Alkapuri is a pretty active area, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We handle vanaspati and oils. It’s the kind of business that relies on the seasons and the market prices, so the office can get a bit hectic when things are changing fast. We have a few desks set up here where we manage the orders and talk to the guys at the production sites. The elevator in Premier Chambers is usually busy, so some of us just take the stairs to the third floor to save time. It’s not a very large office, but it fits everyone we need. We’ve stayed in this location because it’s central and easy for people to find us. We don't use much jargon when we talk to our suppliers or customers. We just tell them what we have and when it can be delivered. The paperwork for the industry is quite a lot, so you’ll see plenty of files around. Sometimes we stay late when the accounts need finishing. Most of the staff has been with us for years, so we’re all pretty familiar with how the oil industry works. It isn't a glamorous life, but it’s steady. We just keep our heads down and make sure the Ashwin Vanaspati name keeps moving through the market.
