Poonam Store

Poonam Store has been a part of Vadodara for a good while now. We sell the daily essentials that families around here need. It’s a small shop, tucked away, but we try to keep the shelves full of the basics like grains, soaps, and snacks. Every morning we sweep the front and wait for the first customers to walk in. Usually, it's people grabbing something they forgot for breakfast. We don't have a huge staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If the power goes out, we just open the doors wider for light. It’s a local spot where you see the same faces every single day. We know who likes what and who is always in a hurry. The street outside can get quite loud with scooters and honking, but inside it stays pretty normal. We don't use any fancy computers for everything; sometimes a notebook is just faster for keeping track of things. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Vadodara, just a reliable one for the neighborhood. It's a lot of work lifting heavy bags and counting change, but it keeps us busy. We stay open late enough for people coming home from work to stop by. It’s just a regular life here. We have big glass jars for the loose biscuits and candies that the kids like. The shelves are made of wood and have been there since we opened. We spend our afternoons restocking the milk and yogurt.
