Harsh General Stores

We are located over in the G I D C Society area, right near Charak Hospital. Because of the hospital being so close, Harsh General Stores stays fairly busy with people looking for toiletries, bandages, or bottled water. It’s a practical kind of shop. We don't have much space for show, just rows of metal shelves packed with essentials. The industrial area nearby means we also get workers coming in for their daily supplies like soap or small snacks. I usually have a newspaper on the counter that I read in bits and pieces when there aren't any customers. The G I D C area can get a bit grimy with all the factories around, so I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars. We’ve been here since this part of Vadodara started developing. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus routes, but the locals know the way. I usually keep a few chairs outside for people who are waiting for someone at the hospital. The shop isn't very big, but we manage to fit a lot in. I handle all the accounts myself at the end of every day in a notebook. It’s a steady life, and we’ve gotten to know the doctors and the nurses who work nearby. We just provide what’s needed for the day-to-day. There's no pressure here, just the usual routine of a neighborhood store in this part of town.
