Salihath English Medium School

Salihath English Medium School has been here in Tonse West for a while now. If you drive down Kodi Bengare Hoode Road, you can’t really miss us. It’s a busy spot but we make it work. Most of the kids come from right here in Hoode or nearby. We have teachers who live around the corner too, which helps because everyone knows each other. It’s not a huge place, just enough rooms for the classes and a bit of space for the kids to run around during the break. The wind from the coast hits the building pretty good some days. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized and making sure the students are actually sitting down and doing their work. There is always some noise from the road, but inside we try to keep it quiet enough for lessons. We have the usual desks and benches, some are older than others. In the mornings, parents drop their kids off on scooters and there is a lot of talking at the gate. We don't have fancy stuff here, just books and blackboards and people who show up every day to do their jobs. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open. We just try to get through the syllabus and make sure the kids learn something useful before they head home for lunch or tea. It's just a normal local school.
