At Bhadbhuja Ghati 6, you’ll find our steel and metal shop. It’s a noisy place because there is always some cutting or moving of metal sheets going on. We sell a variety of steel items, mostly for people who are building houses or fixing up their shops. We have pipes, rods, and some flat sheets of different thicknesses. It’s heavy work, and we spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks that come into the narrow lane. The area is quite old and the streets are tight, so it can be a bit of a struggle to get big deliveries in. I’ve been running this place for a while now. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s steady. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. Everything is stacked up in the back or against the walls. If you come in looking for something specific, we usually have to dig through the piles to find the right size. My son helps me out with the orders and the phone calls. We deal with local contractors mostly, but some regular folks come in too when they need a piece of metal for a gate or a fence. We don't use much technology here, just a heavy scale and some old-fashioned measuring tapes. We try to be accurate with the cuts, but sometimes there's a small margin of error. It’s just how metalwork is. We keep the shop open six days a week and rest on Sundays.
