Prakash Iron Store

Prakash Iron Store is located over in New Ashiwini Market. We are at 6/3, Basti Ramji Ki Bari. It’s a dusty place because of all the metal and iron we move around every day. We’ve been selling iron rods, sheets, and basic hardware for quite some time now. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and the smell of raw iron is pretty strong, but that's just how it is in this business. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a warehouse style shop where we keep the inventory stacked up high. It gets very heavy, so we spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks. The regulars know us by name and they usually just shout their orders from the street. We try to keep the stock levels right so we don't run out when a contractor needs something for a job. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and things get a bit chaotic, but we manage. My hands are usually greasy by the end of the day. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city, just a reliable place for the local builders and DIY folks to get their supplies. If you're looking for us, look for the pile of pipes near the entrance. We keep the doors open all day, rain or shine. It's hard work, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid.
