If you find yourself near Badi Holi, you’ll likely hear us before you see us. There’s always the sound of metal clanging as we move things around. We sell all sorts of metal items, mostly stuff for the kitchen and household use. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with pots, pans, buckets, and those large storage bins that people use for grain. It’s a bit of a maze in here, honestly. I know where everything is, but sometimes even I have to search for a bit when someone asks for a specific size of brass lamp or a particular steel plate. The area around Badi Holi is always full of life, especially during the festivals, which keeps us on our feet. We don’t have a big sales team; it’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We talk to the customers, show them the different weights of the metal, and let them decide what they want. People around here appreciate something that lasts a long time, so we try to stock the sturdier things. It’s not a modern store with air conditioning or glass displays. It’s just a regular shop where you can find what you need for your home. We spend our days drinking tea, talking to neighbors, and making sure the shelves are as full as they can be for whoever walks in.
