Bhomiya Ji Steel

Bhomiya Ji Steel is based in Village Room, which is part of the Nagaur Tehsil. We are located right near the bus stand, so it’s a place where a lot of people pass through every day. The shop sits along the street highway, which means we see all kinds of travelers and trucks moving through the region. It’s a local operation, and we mostly deal with the farmers and builders from the nearby villages. We keep a variety of steel items in the yard, mostly things people need for their homes or for fixing up their equipment. The wind in Nagaur can get quite strong, blowing sand across the highway and into our storage area, so we spend a lot of time cleaning things off. It isn't a high-tech business. We do our calculations on paper and keep our records in simple ledgers. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed most of the time. We sit on chairs outside the front door when things are slow, watching the buses come and go from the stand. People stop by not just for steel, but sometimes just to say hello or ask for directions. We’ve become a part of the village routine over the years. We just try to keep enough stock on hand so that when someone needs something, they don't have to travel all the way into the bigger towns.
