P. P. M. Thangaiah Nadar

We are P. P. M. Thangaiah Nadar at 154 New Colony. It’s a pretty simple setup we have here. The building is old, and it has that smell of aged paper and stone that you find in long-standing family businesses. We don’t have any big corporate structure. It’s just a few of us handling the daily chores. Most of the work involves keeping track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. We have some storage space in the back where things are kept on wooden pallets. The light in the office is a bit dim, but we know where everything is. We don't use a lot of fancy technology, mostly just the basics to keep the records straight. People in the neighborhood know the name because we’ve been around for so long. Sometimes customers stop by just to chat for a minute before getting down to business. It’s that kind of place. We don’t put on any acts. If the fans are noisy, we just turn them up louder. We usually close up early on Saturdays to spend time with family. The work isn't always exciting, but it’s steady. We just take it one day at a time at the New Colony address. It’s a quiet life of work without any of the extra noise you see in big cities. We just do our bit. There is a small garden out front that we try to keep alive, but the sun usually wins that battle. We just stick to what we know and keep the doors open for whoever needs us.
