About Ghansham Plastic Works – Industrial Plant & Machines in Tuticorin
Over at 6169 Pakki Galli, things are usually pretty loud because of the machines. Bara Hindu Rao is a tight area, and our workshop, Ghansham Plastic Works, fits right in with the rest of the busy street. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the materials stacked up against the walls. We've got stuff everywhere, but we usually know where everything is. The floors are rarely clean because plastic work is just like that—scraps get everywhere no matter how much you sweep. My uncle started this place, and it hasn't changed much since then. We just do the work as it comes in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, drinking tea until it comes back on. It’s not a fancy setup. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but that doesn't really affect what we produce. Most of our neighbors are doing similar things, so there's always a lot of shouting and loading going on in the lane. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of the business is done face to face or over a quick phone call while standing near the machines. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours, but it’s what we do. We just try to keep the machines running and the customers satisfied without making a big fuss about it. We’re just regular people making plastic items for the local market.
