About Ica Exports – Industrial Plant & Machines in Tuticorin
We are Ica Exports, and we operate out of 68, Teachers' Colony, on Third West Street. It’s more of a residential area than a business hub, which makes it a bit quieter than the main city. We’ve converted part of the space into our workspace. It’s where we handle all the export details and check the shipments before they go out. Sometimes the neighbors complain if a big truck blocks the street for too long, so we have to be quick with the loading. It’s a small operation, just a handful of us sitting around some old wooden desks. We spend a lot of time on international calls, which means someone is always awake at odd hours. We don't have a big sign outside or a glass front. Most of the work happens on laptops and over the phone. We have stacks of boxes in the corner waiting for labels. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. We take turns bringing in snacks for the afternoon break. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, even when things get busy with deadlines. We don't have a corporate culture or anything like that. We just work together to get the orders shipped. Being in Teachers' Colony feels a bit like working from home, which is nice. We just keep things moving at our own pace and try to stay on top of all the shipping rules.
