Brilliant Salt Refinery

We have been here at 71, South Raja Street for quite a while now. The salt business is what we know best. It is a lot of work every day getting the refinery going. Some days the humidity makes things a bit slower but we just keep at it. People around here know where we are located. We aren't doing anything fancy, just refining salt and making sure the bags are filled right. It gets a bit noisy with the machines running but that is just how it is. We start early when the sun is barely up. My father used to say that salt is just salt, but you have to handle it right or it clumps up. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors because the salt gets everywhere. It is a bit of a dusty job. We have a small team here. Most of us have been working together for years. We eat lunch together in the back room when it gets too hot out. There is always a lot to do, checking the levels and making sure the trucks can get into the street. South Raja Street is narrow so that is always a bit of a challenge. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk with a lot of papers and the smell of the sea sometimes if the wind blows right. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till evening.
