New Life High School

You can find New Life High School over in Pasupathi Nagar. We are at No 25 4/8/40 on 2nd Street in Valluvar Colony, Madurai. It’s a bit of a maze to find us if you’re not from around here, but once you’ve been here a couple of times, it’s easy. The school is basically a local place for the kids in this neighborhood. We have two floors and a small area where students hang out during lunch. Madurai gets really hot, so we spend a lot of time making sure the windows stay open for a breeze. The classrooms are just standard rooms with wooden desks. Some of the desks have names scratched into them from years ago. We don’t mind it much. We deal with the usual school stuff—lost pencils, broken chalk, and making sure everyone is where they should be. The staff room is small and usually piled high with notebooks waiting to be checked. We don't have any big flashy signs out front, just a simple board with the name. Life moves at its own pace here. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out. It’s just a normal school day for us, year after year. We see the kids grow up and then new ones come in. It’s a lot of work but it’s what we do. The 625014 area is home to us.
