Kuttalam Heritage Restaurant

We are located right on the main road between Shenkottai and Kuttalam in Ilanji. If you’ve ever driven through Tirunelveli, you probably know how busy this stretch gets, especially when the rains start and everyone heads toward the waterfalls. Our place, Kuttalam Heritage Restaurant, sits there among the trees and the moving traffic. It isn’t a massive, shiny building, but it’s been here a while. Every morning starts about the same way. The shutters go up, the kitchen staff starts chopping vegetables, and the first pot of tea is usually ready before the sun is fully up. We get a lot of people who are just passing through, maybe stopping for a quick bite before heading up the hills. The floors are plain, the fans hum overhead, and we spend a lot of time just making sure the tables are wiped down after the lunch rush. It gets pretty humid here, so we keep the windows open to let whatever breeze there is come through. We don’t really do fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s more about having a place to sit down for a bit. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late or the local market doesn't have exactly what we need, so we just change the daily specials based on what we can get. It’s just us running the place, trying to keep things moving day after day on this busy road.
