Hot Tandoor

Hot Tandoor is situated at No 82 on Trivanduram High Road in Palayamkottai. We are right across from the Mahindra Showroom, so we are pretty easy to spot if you are driving by. Tirunelveli is a place where people know what they like, and we try to give them exactly that. Our tandoor oven stays hot for most of the day and night. The heat from it fills the front of the shop, which is great in the winter but a bit tough in the summer heat. We don't have a lot of space for sitting, but we have enough for those who want to stay. Many of our customers just grab their food and head home. We’ve got a small team here, and we’ve all been doing this for years. There’s no big management structure or anything like that. We just talk to each other and get the work done. The road outside is usually quite noisy with buses and bikes, but we’ve gotten used to it. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s quiet just to catch a breath of air. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook. The menu is written on a board, and we change it when we feel like it or when we run out of something. It’s a straightforward life here on Trivanduram High Road, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We focus on the fire and the food, and the rest just happens.
