If you ever head up to Ooty, you might find us at Melrose Cottage on Church Hill Road. It is a bit of an old-fashioned place, number 156, and the air is always cold up here in the Nilgiris. We call ourselves Sevarkodiyon Sky Agro Farms, but to the locals, we are just the people working out of the cottage. It is a quiet spot, away from the main tourist rush, which is exactly how we like it. We focus on high-altitude farming and how to manage land in the hills. Working in Ootacamund means you always have a sweater on and a cup of tea nearby. The office feels more like a home, with wooden floors that creak when you walk. We do not have a big staff. It is just a handful of us who enjoy the mountain life and the challenges that come with it. Sometimes the mist gets so thick you cannot see the road, and we just end up staying inside and catching up on our logs. We do not do things the corporate way. We take our time and talk to people face-to-face when they come by. It is a slow pace of life, but the work is steady. We do not need fancy signs or big ads. People around Church Hill Road know where we are if they need us for anything related to the farms. We just try to do a decent job while enjoying the mountain air.
