Ketti Fresh Women Farmers Producer Company Limited

Ketti is a beautiful part of the Nilgiris, and that is where we are based. Our office is right opposite CSI College in Prakasapuram, at number 8/182. We are a group of women farmers who decided to come together to handle our produce better. Being in the hills, we grow a lot of different things that you do not see down in the plains. It is a small operation, really. Most of the time, the office is filled with the sound of us talking and planning the next harvest. We are not professionals in the way people in big cities are. We are farmers first. We know what it is like to have cold hands in the morning and to worry about the frost. We do not have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and that our vegetables reach the market while they are still fresh. People in Ketti know us by name, not just by the company title. It is a community thing. Sometimes we sit on the steps and watch the college students walk by while we take a break. It is a humble way to work, but it is ours. We do not need to be polished because the earth we work with certainly is not. We just keep our heads down and work the fields, then come here to sort out the rest.
