Shakti Lace

We are located in Salabatpura, right inside Amrut Sanmukh Ni Wadi. If you know this part of town, you know it’s famous for all kinds of textile work. Shakti Lace is just a small part of that big world. Our space in the wadi is usually packed with reels and different types of lace. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is kept. The wadi itself is always full of activity. You can hear the sounds of machines and people talking from early in the morning until late at night. We spend most of our time sitting among the stacks of goods, checking the quality and getting things ready to be sent out. It’s a lot of manual work and our hands are usually busy all day. Salabatpura has a very specific feel to it, very old school and a bit cramped. Sometimes it’s hard to move through the narrow lanes when there are deliveries happening. We’ve been here long enough that the noise doesn't bother us anymore. We just have our tea, talk about the weather, and keep working on the lace. It’s a simple business. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just make sure the lace is ready for whoever needs it for their projects. It’s just what we do every day without fail.
