A H L Lace

Our place, A H L Lace, is situated in units 102 and 103 of the Narayan Industrial Estate, over by Anjana Firm. we have rolls and rolls of lace in different colors and patterns piled up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes and spindles. We spend a lot of time measuring out lengths for people who come in looking for something specific for their clothes or craft projects. The lighting in the industrial estate isn't the best, so we sometimes have to take the lace over to the door to see the true color in the sunlight. It’s mostly just a few of us running the show, cutting fabric and keeping track of what’s in the back. There is always a layer of lint on everything, no matter how much we clean up. We aren't some big corporate company, just a local business trying to keep enough stock for everyone. People come from all over the area because we’ve been here at Narayan for quite some time. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with picky requests, but we don't mind much. The estate is always loud with trucks and other businesses, but inside our unit, it's just the sound of scissors and rolling fabric. We keep it simple and just do our work every day without making a big deal out of it.
