Tara Lace

Tara Lace is a small shop located at 2/751/7 Bhandariwad in Sagrampura. We are quite close to Udhna Darvaja, so there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside our doors. We spend our time dealing with all kinds of laces, ribbons, and borders. The shelves are packed tight with rolls of different colors and patterns. It can get a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We don't have a computer system to track everything; we mostly just know where things are by memory. It’s a family-run business and we’ve been in this same spot for a long time. People from the textile markets come by to see what we have in stock. The shop is small and the lighting isn't the best, but we manage. My father started this and now I help run it. We spend a lot of time counting out meters of lace for customers. We don't have a catalog or a website. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come in and look through the piles. It’s a colorful place to work, though it gets very hot in the summer months. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. We aren't looking to become some giant company. We just want to keep the shop going and serve the local tailors and designers who depend on us. It is just simple work.
