Our place here in Surat is right in the middle of the 394 210 area of Gujarat. Jindal Saw Ltd has been operating in this region for a while now. Surat is a city that never really sleeps, and our yard is usually humming with some kind of activity. We work with large-scale pipes and steel, which means a lot of heavy lifting and grime. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean for long. We have a crew that knows their way around a welding machine and a crane. The humidity in Gujarat can be tough, especially in the summer, but we just get on with it. We don't have a fancy mission statement on the wall. Usually, the wall just has a calendar and some safety notices. We focus on getting the materials ready for shipment. There’s a lot of back-and-forth with the logistics teams. Sometimes the paperwork gets a little behind, but the actual work on the ground never stops. We are just regular people trying to do a decent job. It’s a bit noisy around here, and the trucks coming in and out make a lot of dust. But that’s what a real workplace looks like. We don't try to sugarcoat it or make it sound like something it isn't. It’s hard work and we’re okay with that because it pays the bills and keeps us busy.
