Being in Bombay Market is a lot of work. Our spot is N-24 in Umareada. If you know the market, you know it’s a bit of a maze with all the different sections. We’ve been at this unit for a good stretch of time. Radhika is basically just a place where we manage everything from. It gets hot in the summer, and the fans never seem to be enough to keep the air moving, but we manage. The stairs are a bit steep getting up to the N block, which is a workout in itself. We see a lot of people passing by every single day. Most of them are looking for something specific, and they usually find their way eventually if they ask for directions. We spend a lot of time checking boxes and making sure the inventory is right. It’s not a glamorous job, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment comes in from the warehouse. Umareada has changed a lot over the years, more traffic now than when I started. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily tasks. We don't have a big website or anything fancy like that. Just the physical shop and our old ledgers. The neighbors at N-23 and N-25 are good people, we help each other out when someone needs a tool or a bit of change for a customer. It’s noisy and crowded, but it’s where we belong.
