The Regional Institute Of Health Family Welfare is a J K Government office based in Srinagar. You can find us at Polane Hyderpora, right along the Airport Road. Being so close to the airport means we hear the planes going overhead all day long. This office deals with a lot of health and family welfare training for the region. It’s a busy place with a lot of government staff coming in for various workshops and meetings. The building is functional and a bit plain, which is fine for the kind of work we handle. We don't have a marketing department because we aren't selling anything; we are just providing a service for the health department. Sometimes the winters here make things difficult with the snow and the cold, but we keep the heaters going and continue with our tasks. There’s always a stack of files to go through and reports to write. We focus on the practical side of health training rather than anything theoretical or fancy. It’s a government job, so there’s a lot of structure to how we do things every day. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished image. We just want to make sure the health workers who come here get what they need so they can go back to their own clinics and do their jobs properly. The staff here has seen a lot of changes over the years but the core work stays the same.
