Up here in Srinagar, you can find us in the Buchwara Dalgate area. It’s a famous spot but for us, it’s just where we come to work every morning. We deal with the telecommunications infrastructure in Kashmir. The weather can be a real challenge sometimes, especially when the snow starts to pile up, but we keep moving. Our office is a simple place where we manage the local operations. We have a small crew that knows the terrain well. We spend most of our time out on the roads checking on the different sites. It’s important work because staying connected matters a lot in these valleys. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. Local people know we are here in Dalgate. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, and we are the ones trying to get it back up. It’s practical, hands-on stuff. We’ve been in this location for a while and have seen many changes in the city. The work is mostly routine maintenance and fixing hardware. We enjoy the local atmosphere and the people are generally friendly when they see us out working. It’s a busy life but it’s good to have a base right here near the water. We just keep our heads down and do the job. Srinagar is home and we like working for the community here.
