Working near the DC Office in Tanki Pora means there is always something happening outside. Srinagar has its own rhythm, and being right there in the middle of it at the Bsnl office is quite something. The weather really dictates our day. In the winter, we’re mostly focused on staying warm with the heater while keeping the lines running for everyone. You can see the old buildings all around us, and the traffic near the administrative offices is always a bit of a mess. It’s a busy part of Kashmir, with people coming and going for their paperwork all day long. Our office isn’t anything special to look at, just a practical space where we deal with the cables and the customer queries. We get a lot of walk-ins because of where we are located. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, and we just have to sit and wait or fix what we can. The tea here is always hot, which is the main thing we care about in the afternoons. We’ve got a small crew who knows the local area really well. We don’t have any fancy brochures or big corporate speeches prepared. We just tell people what’s possible and what isn't with their connection. It’s a lot of manual work and checking maps of the city. We’ve been part of the landscape here for a long time, and everyone knows the Bsnl building near the Tanki Pora area.
