Our place of work is at 11 Zabarwan Lodge in the Zabarwan Colony, specifically in the Brein Nishat area of Srinagar. We’re part of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The location is quite unique, being near Nishat, so we get some nice views even when the weather gets a bit rough. The lodge itself serves as our office space. It’s an older building with a lot of character, though it can get quite chilly during the winter months. We mostly handle administrative matters and coordination for the local government departments here. The office is usually filled with the sound of old heaters and people typing away on their keyboards. We have a lot of visitors coming through, mostly local residents or other officials who need to discuss ongoing projects. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s more of a functional, lived-in space where there’s always a pot of tea on and piles of folders on every available surface. We’ve been here in the Zabarwan Colony for a long time, and we know the area well. The work can be a bit slow sometimes because of the way things move in the bureaucracy, but we keep at it. It’s a simple setup, really. We just focus on getting the daily paperwork done and making sure the records for our section of the government are kept as up-to-date as possible for everyone involved.
