Newspaper Greater Kashmir

Our office is over in Vichar Nag, specifically the No Wshera area of Srinagar. Working in Kashmir is different from anywhere else. We’ve been here through all sorts of weather and all sorts of times. The newspaper is a daily part of our lives. It’s not just a job; it’s what we do every single day. The office in Vichar Nag is where the stories come together. It’s often a bit loud with people talking, phones ringing, and the hum of the computers. We don't have any polished corporate offices. It’s a practical space where we can focus on getting the news out. Srinagar is a place with a lot of history, and we feel that every day we walk into work. We have journalists coming in with notes and photographers checking their shots. It can be stressful when the printing press is waiting, but we’re used to it by now. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just want to report on what’s happening in the valley and beyond. Sometimes the internet goes out or the roads are blocked, but we find a way to get it done. It’s a local effort, through and through. We’ve been at this address for a while and the neighbors know us well. We just keep at it, day after day, because the news doesn't stop just because things get difficult. That's how we've always operated here in the city.
