J & K Colleges

The college is based right in Raj Bagh, near Zero Bridge in Srinagar. It’s a busy part of the city, especially with Radio Colony right there. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while now. The location is pretty convenient for students coming from different parts of Srinagar because the transport is easy to find around here. It isn’t a massive campus with huge gates, but we have enough space for the classrooms and for the staff to sit. On most days, you’ll hear the sounds of the city outside while classes are going on. We have a mix of students, some from the local neighborhoods and some from further out. The building itself looks like many of the others in this part of town, so you might miss it if you aren't looking for the sign. We don’t really do much in the way of fancy talk or big events. It’s mostly just about the daily routine of lectures and exams. If you walk inside, you’ll see the notice board covered in old papers and the staff room usually has someone drinking tea. It’s a real place with real problems sometimes, like when the weather gets bad in the winter and we have to keep the heaters running. We just focus on keeping the doors open and making sure the schedule is followed as best as we can manage. It takes a lot of effort to keep things going year after year.
