Government College Of Education

The college is right there on MA Road in Srinagar, and people have been coming here for a long time. It’s a busy spot in the city. We spend our days dealing with classes and making sure the students who want to be teachers actually learn what they need for the classroom. The building is old and has a lot of history to it. You can see the mountains from the grounds, which is nice when things get stressful during exams. Most of us here just focus on the daily routine of lectures and paperwork. It’s a government place, so there’s always something to do with files or schedules. We try to keep things moving along. Students come from all over the area, and the campus gets quite crowded during the morning rush. Sometimes the internet is slow or a room needs fixing, but we manage. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. People know where we are because of the central location. We have a library that stays pretty quiet, mostly. The tea stall nearby is where a lot of the talk happens between classes. It’s just a normal part of life here in Srinagar. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just classrooms and some open space for the students to sit. It’s been part of the landscape for years. We just keep showing up and doing the work that needs doing every day. If you walk past the main gate, you’ll see the notice board always covered in new flyers.
