Heritage School Of Education

We've been here in Nowgam for a while now. The school is right in Srinagar, near the 190015 area. It gets quite cold here in the winters, so we have to manage the heating for the students. Most mornings start with the kids arriving through the main gate. We have local teachers from around the neighborhood who walk or take the bus to get here. The classrooms are basic but they do the job. We spend a lot of time on the usual subjects like math and science, and the kids play in the yard during their break. It’s not a huge place, just a regular school where people know each other. Sometimes parents drop by to talk about how their children are doing or to pay fees at the little office near the entrance. We try to keep things organized, though it can get a bit noisy when the bell rings at the end of the day. There's a lot of walking back and forth between the staff room and the classes. We grow some flowers in the small patch of dirt out front when it’s spring. It’s just how things are here. We follow the local curriculum and make sure the books are covered before the exams start. It’s busy work, but that is what running a school in Srinagar is like. We've seen many batches of students move on to college from these rooms over the years. We just keep doing our thing day after day.
