Funduq Tshynar Hotel is tucked away inside Kathi Darwaza in the Rainawari area. If you know Srinagar, you know this is an old part of the city with a lot of history around every corner. We aren't a big chain or anything like that. We're just a small group of people running a hotel in an area we really care about. The building itself has been part of the landscape for a while. We spend our days making sure the rooms are ready and that folks who come to stay are taken care of without too much fuss. It gets quiet sometimes, and other times the streets are full of life. Being near the old gate gives the place a different feel than the more modern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. We don’t have a marketing team or anything polished. We just write down what needs to be done and do it. It’s a local operation through and through. Rainawari is a place where everyone knows each other, so we try to keep that friendly vibe going inside the hotel too. Most of us grew up not far from here. We take pride in just being a steady part of the neighborhood. It's a lot of laundry, cleaning, and talking to guests, but it's what we do. We keep things plain and straightforward because that's what works best for us and the people who visit. We aren't looking to be the biggest hotel, just the one people remember for being real and welcoming in their own way.
