Hotel Mandoo

Up here in Srinagar we are located in Raj Bagh. The exact spot is near Abi Nowpora inside the Raj Bagh area. Our address is 190008. Hotel Mandoo has been here for a bit. It is a quiet neighborhood compared to the main market areas. We have a lot of trees around and the air feels a bit different. We are not a massive hotel with hundreds of rooms. It is a smaller place where we know everyone who is staying with us. We spend our mornings checking the rooms and making sure the water is hot. In the winter it gets very cold so we have to manage the heating carefully. It is a lot of work but we are used to it. The people who come here usually want to see the city or are here for work in the local offices. We don't do any big promotions or anything. Word of mouth is usually how people find us. We keep the place simple. There are no fancy rugs or expensive paintings. Just good solid furniture and clean sheets. We are just local people running a local business. Sometimes we sit out front and watch the people go by on the street. It is a peaceful way to make a living in Srinagar and we just keep the doors open for whoever comes by looking for a room.
