Hotel Gosani

Hotel Gosani is located right by Dal Lake in Srinagar, near Nehru Park. Living and working here means we are always looking at the water. It’s a busy area with all the shikaras moving around and people visiting the park. Our place is in the 190001 zip code area, right in the middle of things. We started this because we had the space and we like meeting the travelers who come to see the mountains and the lake. Srinagar can be very cold in the winter, so we spend a lot of time making sure there are enough blankets and the heating is working as it should. In the summer, it's a lot busier. We have a few staff members who have been with us for years. They know the area well and often help people figure out where to go for a boat ride or where to find good tea nearby. The building itself is simple. We don't use fancy decorations or anything like that. We just try to keep the rooms clean and the tea hot. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the location, but that's just part of being out here on the lake. We see a lot of tourists taking photos of the view from just outside our door. It is a nice spot to sit for a bit in the evening when the sun starts going down over the water. We are just local people running a small place.
