You’ll find us over at the Abu Dhaar Complex, which is right on the main road in Batamaloo. It’s a busy area because the General Bus Stand is directly opposite us. Because of that, we get a lot of travelers coming in and out at all hours. We’ve been operating this hotel and restaurant in Srinagar for a while now. It’s not one of those big, shiny places you see in travel magazines. It’s just a regular building where people can get a room for the night or sit down for a hot meal when it’s cold outside. We do our best to keep things tidy, though with so many people coming from the buses, the floors get dirty pretty fast. We just mop it up and keep moving. The main road is always loud with horns and people shouting, but inside it’s a bit more relaxed. We have a small staff, mostly just local folks who know the area well. We don’t have a big fancy menu, just the usual stuff that people like to eat when they’re on the road. It’s a simple business, really. We just provide a place to stay and something to eat for anyone passing through Batamaloo. It’s nothing special to look at, but it gets the job done for the people who need us. We’re just here every day, making sure the lights are on.
