Satavahana Junior College

Over in Mandasa, Srikakulam, there is Satavahana Junior College. Our address is Door No 452, right in the Gunnayya Nagar neighborhood. It’s a quiet spot compared to the bigger cities, and we like it that way. The college is a junior one, focusing on those two years of higher secondary education. Most of the students come from Mandasa or the small villages nearby. They arrive on bicycles or walk through the narrow streets. The building is a simple structure, painted a light color that’s faded a bit over the years. We have a few classrooms and a small office where we keep all the records in big paper files. It’s not a high-tech campus with Wi-Fi in every corner, but we have the essentials. During the rainy season, you can hear the water hitting the roof quite loudly, which sometimes makes it hard to hear the lectures. The local community knows us well, and many families have sent all their children here one after the other. We don't really do advertisements or anything like that because word of mouth in Srikakulam is enough. We just try to provide a place where kids can study without too much distraction. It’s a very local, very plain sort of institution. We are just part of the daily life in Gunnayya Nagar, and we’re fine with that. It’s a place where work gets done and students prepare for their next big step in life.
