Nalanda Junior College

If you are looking for us, we are right on Nanubala Street in the Sri Kurman area of Srikakulam. It is a typical street in this part of town, with houses and small shops all around us. The college is a junior college, so we mostly deal with students who are in their intermediate years. It is a busy time of life for them, and our building reflects that energy. There are always notices being pinned up on the boards and students rushing to their next lecture. The classrooms are a bit tight sometimes because we try to fit everyone in, but it makes for a lively atmosphere. We have been part of this street for quite a while now. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood from the windows—bikes passing by, people calling out, and the general hum of Srikakulam. We don't have a big playground or a dedicated sports field, so the students mostly hang out in the corridors or just outside the main door during their lunch breaks. The furniture is basic, mostly desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We focus on the daily lessons and the upcoming board exams, which are always on everyone's mind. It is a no-frills kind of place where the goal is just to get through the syllabus and help the kids move on to their next step.
